Dear readers and creators,
On November 16, 2026, Manta opens its doors to independent creators of comics and novels. Creators will be able to share their series here, on Manta, and readers will have even more stories to discover.
Why we're doing this
For more than a decade, RIDI, Manta’s parent company, has worked with creators to bring their stories to more readers. Now, we’d love to see even more stories find the readers waiting for them.
Behind every story is a creator, and many of the most original stories start with independent creators, often long before they reach a wide audience. We want Manta to be where those creators meet their readers and build a fandom.
That’s why we’re opening Manta to independent creators, as a first step toward a place where creators and readers grow together.
What we're envisioning
At launch, Manta will add a new section dedicated to independent creators, where their stories can reach our readers. We’ll keep making it easier to create and share work on Manta, and down the road, to earn from it too. Ultimately, we hope Manta becomes a place full of diverse, original stories, and we’d love to bring some of them into our official lineup, shining a light on the creators behind them.
For readers
The series you read on Manta today stay the same. Starting November 16, you’ll also find independent stories on Manta. Discover new creators, cheer them on in the comments, hear back from them, and watch their stories grow from the first episode.
For creators
If you create comics or novels, we’d love to have you. You'll set up a profile, upload episodes in the creator studio, and publish right away. Your series will appear in the new section, and through comments, you can communicate with readers and grow a fan community of your own.

The Manta Team
